Hi Matt,

Thanks for your concern but since this post my eyesight has been measured and has improved. You are right that by just taking off your glasses your eyesight won't improvement but you are wrong that one's eyesight won't change no matter what you do. My PRESCRIBED eyesight is currently -2.00 at the moment. Thanks for your comment.

If you are truly a -3.50, you will never be able to meet the state's limits for driving without correction (usually 20/40 with one eye). I do agree with you that you feel you see worse after taking off your glasses. The idea is called blur interpretation, and when you don't wear your glasses your brain has to interpret blurry images all day. Your eyes seem to get "better" the less you wear your glasses. When you wear your glasses, your brain gets lazy at interpreting blurry images, and subsequently, you feel that you can't see very well when you take them off. At a -3.50, you probably see around 20/200 or slightly worse. That won't change no matter what you do. Your PERCEPTION of how well you see, though, will change as you do these activities and don't wear glasses.
